Loira (she/they) is a writer with a deep love of atmosphere whose work is influenced by dark romanticism and the gothic, just as much as it is nostalgia and a desire to create moments readers can float in. These days, when not working on Tales from the Merch Table – which chronicles their time on tour with Urban Heat – she can be found writing TTRPG reviews, and articles about horror movies and video games. She was a contributor to gothHoblin’s Grimoire Issue 1 – Gothic which published October 2023.
As a TTRPG performer, they have played Wisteria in A Very Humble Glowtide, Trish in Final Throws: Grave Mistakes, and Juniper in Fey Wanderer. She has played in charity games with Exquisite Corpse Presents (Nancy –Monster Hearts), D8 Dungeon (Amelia – Ruin & Restoration), and Tavernaut’s RPG-A-Thons (Aine – Kids on Brooms, Thistle – Honey Heist).
Loira can occasionally be found streaming on Twitch, where they play short, narrative driven games with elements of horror. They have been on indefinite hiatus since January 2024.
